Sample Safari Itineraries — Ideas to Build From

The itineraries below are starting points, not fixed products. Every safari we operate is adjusted to the specific person travelling — their dates, their budget, their must-see experiences, and the season they are travelling in. A seven-day Masai Mara itinerary in August looks different from the same duration in January, because the wildlife and the conditions are different. These samples give you a sense of what is possible in different time frames, but treat them as conversation starters rather than finished plans.

Duration is the biggest variable for most clients. If you have one week, you can do one destination well or two destinations briefly. Two weeks gives you room to combine countries — Tanzania and Uganda, for example, or Kenya followed by Rwanda for gorilla trekking. Three weeks and beyond allows the kind of depth that transforms a safari from a highlight reel into something more like genuine immersion. Read our guide on how long a safari should be for specific recommendations by destination, then browse the itineraries below to see what appeals.
