It works all year; in the dry season (June–October) Tarangire is at its best, and the Serengeti camp moves to wherever the herds are.

Route
Day by day
Day 1Arrive in Arusha
Met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your lodge.
Days 2–3Tarangire
Drive to Tarangire for its dry-season elephant herds, baobabs and river wildlife.
Days 4–6Serengeti
Fly or drive into the Serengeti for three days of game drives, based where the wildlife is that month.
Day 7Ngorongoro Crater
Drive to the crater rim; afternoon at leisure.
Day 8Crater floor and departure
Early descent to the crater floor, then transfer to Kilimanjaro airport.
